InterMapper 3.0
This folder contains InterMapper tm 3.0, a network monitoring application that alerts a network manager to problems that have occurred in the network. To get started using the program, just install the program, and let InterMapper discover the equipment on your network. Or read the Tutorial section of the InterMapper manual for a quick start guide.
Installation
InterMapper is a Macintosh application (its file is named InterMappertm 3.0-xxx, where xxx is FAT, PPC, or 68K). It's very easy to install and start InterMapper:
- If you haven't done so, uncompress the distribution package by double-clicking the ".sit" file. This will launch an application like StuffIt Expander (a freeware compression utility for the Macintosh). If you're reading this document on your hard drive, the file has already been un-stuffed.
- Find the InterMapper 3.0 folder. If you have never run InterMapper, simply double-click the application in that folder. InterMapper will create all the settings, etc. that it needs.
- If you've run InterMapper before, drag the InterMapper 3.0 application to the same folder as the previous version. (This folder probably contains the map files that you have saved.) Double-click InterMapper to launch it.
Documentation
You should take a moment to read the InterMapper Manual, at http://www.dartware.com/immanual/, especially the Tutorial section. In 15 or 20 minutes you'll have constructed a map, and will be monitoring your network.
